The court of Fazilka Sessions Judge Ajit Pal Singh has sentenced four persons to life imprisonment for killing a shopkeeper in 2022.

Sukhchain Singh, Baljinder Singh, Kamaljit Singh, alias Kamal, and Happy Singh reportedly went to Shinda Singh’s meat shop on April 17, 2022, evening. They demanded chicken and eggs. Shinda Singh, who was closing his shop at that time, refused to give them the items.

Infuriated, they attacked Shinda Singh and his companions Paramjeet Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Saroj Rani with sharp-edged weapons.

Paramjeet Singh was seriously injured and referred to Medical College, Faridkot, where he succumbed to his injuries. An FIR was registered against the accused by the Sadar police under Sections 302, 323, 324, 148, 149 and 120-B of the IPC on April 17, 2022.

The trial went on for over three years and now the court has delivered its verdict.
