Abohar, July 20

The anti-narcotics cell of the Punjab Police and 55th Battalion of the BSF seized 1.5kg heroin from the possession of four people.

The accused have been identified as Jaswinder Singh, alias Sonu, a resident of Burjmuhar Colony, Abohar; Amanpreet Singh of Noorshah in Fazilka; Gurjit Singh and Gurwinder Singh, both residents of Anoopgarh in Rajasthan.

The police said the accused had parked their car near Abha Library. During inspection of the vehicle, cops found 1.5 kg heroin. On their disclosure, the police recovered Rs 8 lakh drug money and a tractor and trailer.

A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act. The accused were presented before the court, which remanded them in the police custody.
