Four Punjabis among 12 back from Panama

A flight carrying four Punjabis — who were among 12 brought back to India from Panama after the US expelled them — landed at the Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport this evening.
The state residents had landed along with others at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday. Among the 12 deportees, three each were from Haryana and UP. The Punjab residents were identified as Jatinder Singh of Nabha in Patiala; Maninder Dutt from Jalandhar; Jugraj Singh and Harpreet Singh from Batala.

A top police officer said the Indians deported from Panama arrived in New Delhi via Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight. After landing at New Delhi, the four deportees were brought to Amritsar, where they were received by police personnel from their respective districts and sent back home.
