Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgaj appointed Takht Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar, given additional charge of Akal Takht

The SGPC has terminated the services of Giani Raghbir Singh as Akal Takht Jathedar.

It was done during its executive body meeting here on Friday.

Giani Sultan Singh has been removed as Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar.

Giani Raghbir Singh and Giani Sultan Singh will continue their services as Head Granthi and Granthi of the Golden Temple.

This was announced by SGPC executive body member Jaswant Singh Purain.

Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgaj has been appointed the Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar and also the acting Jathedar of the Akal Takht.

Sant Baba Tek Singh has been appointed the Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.

Meanwhile, the decision on Harjinder Singh Dhami’s resignation has been kept pending.

Giani Gadgaj, 40, has been a ‘katha vachak’ since 2001.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
