The Government Railway Police (GRP), Sirhind, have found a girl child abandoned in a train. District Child Protection Officer Harbhajan Singh Mehmi said the girl, who had been identified as Priyanka, was about 10 years old and traveling alone in the Amar Pali Express. He said as per the girl, her father's name was Manoj Prasad Singh and mother's name Kranti Devi. The girl has given her address as Dhandari Kalan in Ludhiana. "The girl's complexion is fair; her hair is short. Over 4 feet tall, she is wearing a black, blue, white sweater and a white pyjami and black sandals.

The officer appealed to residents of the district that if anyone knew about the parents of this girl, he could contact the District Child Protection Unit directly or on telephone No. 9914310010.
