Her brother got badly injured and was rushed to the Civil Hospital, Ferozepur.

The injured boy was identified as Jaspinder Singh, a resident of Faridkot. The identification of the girl was yet to be made. Both were going towards Faridkot at around 3 pm.. Due to the heavy winds and smoke, Jaspinder reportedly lost control over his bike, making them fall in the raging fire.

The fire broke out at around 2 pm near Nurpur Sethan village, 11 km from the district headquarters on the Faridkot road. Within a few minutes, the fire spread rapidly across Baje Ke, Bazidpur, Jhoke Hari Har and other villages, reducing vast stretches of crop into ashes.
