The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has given approval to Government Medical College (GMC), Amritsar, to treat Covid patients with plasma therapy.

State Medical Education and Research Minister OP Soni said the Covid patients would be soon treated with the plasma therapy in GMC, Amritsar. The requisite preparedness had already been completed to start the process within the next few days.

The minister said given the adequate infrastructure and sufficient plasma donors, GMC, Amritsar, was fully equipped to provide best treatment to the Covid patients via the plasma therapy.
