Accusing the ruling Congress of being biased in allocating funds to MLAs, AAP senior leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema today said if AAP came to power in 2022, the MLA constituency development fund would be introduced for every legislator along the lines of the facility available to MPs.

Cheema also demanded a judicial inquiry, under the supervision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, into the funds released by former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to Congress MLAs. “If AAP legislators had received half as much funds as Congress MLAs, they would have changed the face of their respective constituencies and accounted to the public for the funds spent on development works in each village and locality, as party president Bhagwant Mann does,” he said. — TNS
