Joginder Singh, who was wanted in a molestation case registered against him under Section 74 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and under Section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on July 7, was arrested from the Ferozepur road area today.

Notably, Joginder Singh, head granthi of the village gurdwara, was accused of physically abusing two minor girls of the village a week ago. A woman had, in her statement, alleged that her nine-year-old daughter and her six-year-old friend were playing near the gurdwara. The granthi allegedly called both of them inside the gurdwara, lured them by giving ‘prasad’ and abused them physically.

Sources said since then, the granthi had been on the run. Jalalabad DSP Acchru Ram Sharma said police teams had been raiding several places since the complaint was registered and the accused was finally nabbed today.
