The Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Annual Environment Award, 2024, was conferred on Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, in recognition of its contribution to improve and protect the environment.
Minister Balkar Singh presented this award to Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice Chancellor, PAU, during the Independence Day function held in Ludhiana.
The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a certificate of appreciation and a silver plate as memento.
The university has successfully launched a “Clean and Green Campus Drive” and introduced number of environment-friendly initiatives such as groundwater recharging, e-rickshaws, crop residue utilisation apart from conserving energy by installing one MW solar power plant.
