‘Grenade’ hurled at petrol station in Mansa, owner gets ransom threat

A petrol station on Sirsa Road in Mansa was reportedly attacked with a hand grenade late last night. Following the incident, the petrol pump owner received a call from a foreign mobile number demanding a ransom of Rs 5 crore. The police have initiated the investigation and refused to divulge any details.

Around 1 am last night, a bomb-like object was thrown at the petrol station. Soon after, the station owner, Khushwinder Singh, received a WhatsApp call and messages from a foreign number claiming responsibility for the explosion. The caller said it was just a “trailer” and warned that if Rs 5 crore won’t be paid, another attack would be carried out at his home.

The police have registered a case against unknown individuals and began their investigation. Meanwhile, investigative teams are examining the petrol pump, reviewing CCTV footage. So far, no police official has made any statement on the matter and is maintaining distance from the media.
