These teachers have demanded that proper action should be taken against the present AAP government. “AAP leaders had promised before the Assembly elections that the guest faculty teachers would be appointed on a priority after the formation of the government, but after coming to power, this government has failed to fulfil its promises, they alleged.

Sampla assured the delegation that he would make efforts to resolve their problems. He said the previous Congress government in Punjab had allowed the recruitment of teachers in 1,158 government colleges by taking a simple written test.

“At the time other political parties, including AAP, alleged rigging, and thus the process was stopped by the High Court, but now despite the model code of conduct in place for the panchayat poll, permanent recruitment is being justified by neglecting guest faculty teachers. The government should quickly resolve the demands of the guest faculty teachers and secure their future,” he said.
