One of the victims, who suffered serious injuries in a cylinder blast that took place due to leakage near the kitchen area at Gurdwara Jamni Sahib in Bajidpur on August 2, succumbed to his injuries today.

The deceased, identified as Talwinder Singh (27), alias Kaka, a resident of the cantonment area, was serving as a sewadar at the gurdwara. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ludhiana. Talwinder, who had suffered 90 per cent burns, was struggling for his life. He is survived by his parents, wife and two children.

“He was a noble and religious human being. We tried to save his life, but all in vain,” said Kulwant Singh, manager of the gurdwara management committee.

Seven persons, including five students, were injured in the cylinder blast.
