The Punjab government issued ‘Unlock 3’ guidelines on Friday to open up a few sectors of the state’s stalled economy—a development that comes two days after the central government issued its own directives.

Punjab allowed board and universities examinations to be held. Following the Centre’s lead, the state government also allowed gymnasiums and yoga institutes to open ‪from August 5.

Night curfews however will remain in place from 11 pm to 5 am.

The developments come two days after the central government issued similar directives to open up an economy that came to a complete halt on March 25, when it called for a nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus.
