HC grants bail to drug racket kingpin Jagdish Bhola
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday allowed bail plea filed by Jagdish Bhola, dismissed DSP and alleged kingpin in the multi-crore drug racket unearthed by the Punjab Police in 2013.
The order was yet to be uploaded. Among other things, the court took into consideration his prolonged incarceration and the remote possibility of an early disposal of appeals.
A former international wrestler, Bhola was represented by senior advocate Vikram Choudhri in the HC.
Bhola, allegedly at the centre of the drug racket, was convicted in a narcotics-related case. He has been lodged in the jail since 2013. All appeals against his conviction are currently pending in the HC.
