The notice by Justice Sudip Ahluwalia came on a petition filed by former dean Dr NP Singh. He also sought quashing of an order passed by Special Judge, Kapurthala, whereby his protest plea was not considered while accepting the cancellation report. His counsel Vivek K Thakur said on the basis of various complaints and an inquiry report, an FIR was registered on January 4, 2018, by the Vigilance Bureau against Dr Arora and others.

He said despite various financial irregularities, the DSP, Vigilance Bureau unit, Kapurthala, submitted a cancellation report, “which speaks of highhandedness of the accused”. — TNS
