Health Dept contract workers tie Rakhi to CM Mann’s portrait

Some female employees working on contract with the Health Department today tied Rakhi to the portrait of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. While tying the Rakhi, they wished for his good health and also sought a promise from the CM to protect their jobs. They said they would send the portrait to the Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann.

Riya and Pawan of the AIDS Control Unit in the Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital said every day the department issues arbitrary orders and shows them the way home. They said they have been working hard and supporting the Aam Aadmi Party government with great hopes. They said they thought the Aam Aadmi Party would get rid of the wrong policies of the previous regimes; however, the Aam Aadmi Party was not living up to their expectations. Their union had sought a meeting with the CM about six times; however, no meeting has been arranged so far.
