The protesters alleged that the police officials present at the Mandi Gobindgarh police station did not take any action and misbehaved with them.

District police officials led by SP Rakesh Yadav were trying to restore the traffic as hundreds of commuters were struck in the traffic jam since morning.

The SP assured the protesters that four police personnel, including the ASI, would be suspended and they would register a case against the truck driver, the transport company and the owner of the firm as demanded by the protesters.
