As many as 56 entries, about one fourth of the total, were received from Punjab and Haryana for the 14th edition of Hanumangarh horse fair, which concluded today. This time, besides horses, Brazilian bulls and high-quality hens and cocks were the talking point among visitors.

During the week-long fair which was organised near the Abohar bypass, the local municipal corporation (MC) had made arrangements to sprinkle water to settle dust every day, but failed to provide potable water for drinking purpose and in makeshift washrooms. The MC chairman, Ganesh Bansal, who honoured the winners today, assured that the facilities would be provided next year.

Among the winners were Baljit Singh from Ludhiana, Harinder Singh from Mahni Khera in Muktsar, Balwant Singh from Bathinda, Dara Singh of Damdama Sahib, Baljit Singh Bath and Bhola Singh from Sirsa, Bhagat Singh from Sadhuwali, Angrej Singh from Suratgarh, Nirmal Singh from Peelibanga, Panav Karwasra from Deengarh, Randeep Singh from Srikaranpur and Aman from Shereka village in Hanumangarh.
