Two weeks after a major crackdown on drug peddlers at Indira Colony in Kotkapura, the police, along with the SDM and municipal authorities, demolished four illegally constructed houses belonging to alleged drug traffickers.

The police said the properties were built on encroached land and these belonged to individuals involved in drug-related crimes, including three women. They have been identified as Alla Rakha, Lajja, Nisha Rani and Sona Devi. All of them are facing cases under the NDPS Act.

SSP Dr Pragya Jain said 189 drug traffickers, including 21 big smugglers, had been arrested in Faridkot district in the past two weeks.
