The alleged scam involves the allotment of industrial plots worth crores of rupees at low reserved price to persons who have remained untraceable till date.

Since there has been delay on part of the PSIEC in providing the information, the department would impose penalty on the officials concerned.

Sources in the Corporation said after the original allottee defaulted on payment, they were taken back by the PSIEC due to the non-fulfilment of the allotment conditions. But instead of auctioning, such plots were allotted at a low price to a select few in a hush-hush manner.

The modus operandi was revealed during a Punjab Vigilance Bureau probe.
