A former employee of the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Bathinda, has been booked for allegedly siphoning off Rs 9.78 lakh.

After conducting a probe, the police registered a case against Rahul Garg, a resident of Nai Basti in Bathinda, who worked as an assistant accountant at the IHM from 2016 to 2018.

The matter came to light when an audit of 2017-18 was conducted. It was revealed that Garg allegedly took fees from 43 students but handed them fake receipts.
