Dr Nair’s research project is on the manipulation of light transport and emission using nature-inspired structures like that in a peacock feather. His group is aiming to understand the light emission down to a single-photon level from the precise atomic defects in solid-state materials through the ‘Swarna Jayanti Fellowship’.

The fellowship will cover all the requirements for research and includes a monthly fellowship of Rs 25,000 as well as a research grant of Rs 5 lakh for five years in addition to the salary.
