IKGPTU portals get functional, more than 70% backlog cleared

Over 12,000 graduates of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, who had applied online for various services, including verification of their academic credentials, duplicate degrees, detailed marks certificates, migration certificates and other documents but were not getting response, have finally heaved a sigh of relief.

After The Tribune highlighted this problem of the students in news item ‘Students suffer as online academic verification on hold at IKGPTU’, which appeared on August 28, the Technical Education Department, Punjab, got into action. The varsity authorities were directed to get all its three portals meant for online services functional within 24 hours.

After the portals became functional last evening, the officials have managed to clear over 70 per cent of the backlog till today. The applications were lying pending with the university on its online portals for the past over 40 days.
