Faridkot SSP Dr Pragya Jain said the building was unlawfully constructed by Bimla Devi and Nachhattar Singh, both of whom had multiple criminal cases registered against them under the NDPS Act. The action was taken after approval from the competent authorities and security arrangements were put in place during the demolition.

Bimla Devi faces two drug trafficking cases, while her daughter-in-law Rajni has five cases under the NDPS Act registered against her. Her son Soni is also involved in a criminal case under the IPC. Nachhattar Singh has four criminal cases, including three related to drug trafficking. His wife Banso also faces three cases, including one under the NDPS Act.

The civil administration officials, including Naib Tehsildar Sukhwinder Singh and Executive Officer Maninderpal Randhawa, were present during the operation. Randhawa stated that repeated notices had been issued, but the occupants failed to vacate the premises, leading to the bulldozer action.

SSP Jain further stated that from March to June, a total of 329 cases had been registered under the campaign, resulting in the arrest of 492 accused, including several key drug traffickers. She added that property worth over ₹4.90 crore, allegedly acquired through drug trade, had been frozen in the past 10 months alone.
