The police today recovered 457 bottles of illicit liquor of a Haryana brand and 250 litres of ‘lahan’ in Mansa district. Seven persons allegedly involved in bootlegging were arrested and booked under various sections.

Mansa SSP Surendar Lamba said: “As part of a drive against drugs and bootlegging in the district, an operation was conducted and the district police recovered a cache of illicit liquor.” The police, after getting a tip-off, conducted a raid and nabbed two persons with 35 cartons of illicit liquor in a car. After interrogation, another suspect was arrested. Two of the accused were minors who were produced before a local court, which sent them to a juvenile home in Faridkot. — TNS
