The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Rampura Phul unit, has passed a resolution to stop providing medical treatment to residents of Mandi Kalan and Sooch villages in Bathinda district. The move follows alleged manhandling of a doctor from Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred on June 24, when a motorcyclist from Sooch village met with an accident at Mandi Kalan village. He succumbed to his injuries. Enraged villagers accused the hospital staff of negligence and allegedly assaulted the doctor on duty.
