Amritsar: A delegation of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee handed over fee of 111 Sikligar and Vanjare students studying in different schools of Raipur and Chhattisgarh to their principals, a press release said here on Wednesday. A total amount Rs 13.44 lakh was distributed.

Stray animal claims life in Fazilka

Fazilka: Vinod Singh, a 35-year-old resident of border village of Jhuge Gulab Singh, died as his bike collided with a stray animal. Working as palledar at a godown in a nearby village, he was returning home after work when the accident occurred. Vinod Singh is survived by wife and 11-year-old daughter.

Body found in train at Abohar railway station

Abohar: The police found the body of an unidentified person on Hanumangarh-bound train on Wednesday, sources said. The body was spotted in a compartment of the Ferozepur-Hanumangarh train at the Abohar railway station. The age of the deceased is stated to be nearly 30 years. The body has been kept at the mortuary of the Civil Hospital.
