The police on the statement of the deceased’s wife Amandeep Kaur on October 19 had booked six doctors Sandeep Sandhu, Gurraj Singh, Amrinder Sandhu, Opminder Singh, Gurpreet Brar and Maheshinder Singh, two other persons — Kaku Sandhu and Rinku Bawa — all residents of Muktsar.

Darshan Singh, father of the deceased, said, “The police are working under pressure. How come murder accused are moving freely? We are demanding their arrest for the past one month. If the accused are not nabbed, we will intensify our protest.”

Later, SP Manvinderbir Singh met the protesters and assured that action would be taken soon in this regard.
