Ludhiana, November 13

The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Prabhjot Singh Kaleka adjourned the hearing in cases of income tax evasion against Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and his son Raninder Singh till November 25.

The cases were fixed for hearing arguments of I-T Department on the point of summoning. However, arguments could not be heard. On July 29, the I-T Department had concluded the evidence of its officers namely Amit Dua and Amanpreet Kaur. The department also produced certain documents as additional evidence.

In its complaints, the department has alleged that the accused wilfully attempted to evade taxes, penalties imposable under the I-T Act, which was an offence punishable under Act.
