The Income Tax Department has called upon entrepreneurs to make maximum use of the ‘Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme’ by depositing taxes till January 31.

An appeal was made by Dr Rishi Kumar, Additional Commissioner, Income Tax Department, Ludhiana, during a meeting with professionals, including chartered accountants (CAs), and income tax lawyers of the district.

Convener of the event, Mandeep Dutt, said a meeting of income tax professionals was held in compliance of directions of Lal Chand, Chief Commissioner, Income Tax, Amritsar, and Surinder Kumar, Principal Commissioner, Income Tax -1, Ludhiana. He said last date of ‘Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme’ had been extended till January 31.

Highlighting salient features of the scheme, Rishi Kumar, Vrindra Singh and Mandeep Dutt called upon the CAs and IT lawyers to impress upon their clients to deposit due tax in time.

Assesses were also asked to get income tax returns updated without further delay as unauthorised exemptions and TDS deductions were also being probed by the department.
