Chandigarh, November 1

The Joint Association of Colleges (JAC) has rejected the new SC Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme launched by the state government. The JAC said the new educationpolicy was meant for 2020-21.

It has demanded release of the pending dues for 2016-17 (Rs 415.60 crore), 2017-18 (Rs 538 crore); 2018-19 (Rs 437.19 crore) and 2019-20 (450 crore), which comes to around Rs 1,850 crore.

The Joint Association of Colleges said out of 1,650 unaided colleges in the state, a majority of them had turned into NPA because of four-year delay in payment of dues and still in the new policy nothing had been mentioned about the pending dues.
