Lauding the interim Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as an exercise in fiscal prudence and pragmatism focused on nation building, Punjab state BJP president Sunil Jakhar on Thursday said trust of 140-crore Indians in PM Modi’s long-term vision of a resilient India was reflected in the document.

“By avoiding the strong political temptation of announcing doles in an election year, the Prime Minister has once again shown the courage of conviction in BJP’s unmatchable record of inclusive development and growth in the last 10 years,” said Jakhar.

“Young India today knows the significance of the country’s rise in the last decade, which has only happened through the full realisation of our capabilities,” Jakhar said, while adding that every Indian today wanted unhindered development.
