Kapurthala roof collapse leaves elderly woman, son injured

The victims, identified as Parkash Kaur and her son Harmel Singh, were rescued after significant efforts. Parkash Kaur sustained injuries, including a leg fracture, and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Her son, Harmel Singh, received minor injuries.
Sultanpur Lodhi Halqa in-charge Sajjan Singh Cheema visited the site and confirmed that both victims were immediately taken to the hospital. “We ensured timely medical assistance. Their condition is stable now,” he said while talking to the media.
Jaswinder Singh, the Sarpanch of Kabirpur village, shared that the family is financially weak. “Earlier, Harmel’s father used to run the chakki, but after he suffered a heart attack, he was unable to work. Since then, his elderly wife and son were managing it together,” he said.
