Khalistani flags were seen waiving atop a water tank at Goindwal Sahib, 25 km from here, today.

Slogans in favour of ‘Referendum-2020’ were reportedly written on a board near the tank, which is located near Gurdwara Chaubacha Sahib in the town. Some residents said the flags were waived during the annual mela which concluded two weeks back though others said they had seen the flags only today. SSP Dhruman H Nimbale said the flags were saffron in colour but not of Khalistan. They were were installed during the annual mela. He said the persons who wrote the slogans would be identified and action would be taken against them.

The Goindwal Sahib township is called ‘Sikhi Da Dhura’ (central point) where thousands of devotees come daily to pay their obeisance at Gurdwara Baoli Sahib.
