Large quantity of arms and ammunition seized in Ajnala
Days after the Pahalgam terror attack, the BSF and Punjab Police have seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the Ajnala border belt here on Friday.
The consignment was apparently dropped by drone, said SSP Maninder Singh.
The seizure included 4.5 kg of explosives suspected to be RDX, six detonators, two remotes, five hand grenades, four pistols, eight magazines, two batteries, two power circuits and 220 live cartridges.
The SSP said the BSF and Punjab Police carried out a search operation at Chak Bala village near Shahpur border outpost following an information provided by the farmers who were harvesting the fields.
A case is being registered, the SSP said.
