Accusing the SAD of “fooling” farmers by announcing poll promises that the Congress government had already started executing, CM Capt Amarinder Singh today asked party chief Sukhbir Badal to check his facts before making tall claims.

Trashing the SAD announcements for farmers who died fighting the farm laws, the CM called it a “last-ditch” attempt by the party to woo back farmers.

“How do you propose to do something that has already been done?” he asked, reacting to the SAD announcement. Pointing out that his government was already giving Rs 5 lakh each to the families of such farmers, the CM said of the 237 Punjab farmers who had died so far, the families of 191 had already got the relief.

The CM added he had already announced jobs for the kin of the deceased farmers months ago. — TNS
