Amritsar, December 21

Sarchand Singh, spokesperson for Damdami Taksal, has served legal notice to Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadhrianwala for derogatory comments against Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh.

In the notice, he asked him to tender an apology within the next fortnight, failing which a case will be filed against him.

He alleged that the self-styled preacher, through his Youtube channel, was challenging the established Sikh institutions like the Jathedar, twisting the Gurmat ideology and Sikh philosophy.

He held the state government responsible for shielding the preacher to hurt religious sentiments of Sikhs.

Earlier, Akal Takht Jathedar-appointed five-member committee called Dhadhrianwala to discuss the allegations levelled against him but he refused to appear.
