A leopard was trapped on a tree on Bhakra road in Nangal on Friday morning, causing panic among locals.
The wildlife department officials used a tranquilliser gun to sedate it and bring it down.

The leopard had injury marks on its body. The wildlife officials are shifting the leopard to the Chhatbir zoo near Chandigarh.
The leopard had reportedly killed a dog in the area on Thursday night following which stray dogs attacked it. To escape them, it climbed the tree on the roadside and got stuck.

Prabhat Bhatti, an animal activist, earlier said a large number of people gathered to see the leopard blocked its escape route.
The leopard appeared to be a year old.
