Let Bedi join as Secy, govt urges BBMB
The state government has dug its heals in over the appointment of Bhakra Beas Management Board Secretary, even after the BBMB rejected its move to appoint Harinder Pal Singh Bedi to the post.
The government ordered the appointment of Chief Engineer Bedi as the BBMB secretary last week to counter the appointment of Haryana Engineer-in-Chief Rakersh Chauhan as the Member (Irrigation) in the BBMB. After the BBMB objected to the appointment, the Haryana Government rescinded its order.
The BBMB had also objected to the appointment of Bedi. Now, a letter has been sent to the BBMB Chairman stating that the Punjab Government has complied with the BBMB rules. The board has been urged to allow Bedi join as Secretary, once the tenure of the incumbent Secretary ends on February 28.
