With the approval of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), the City-1 police have registered a case against SAD former halqa incharge and liquor baron Shiv Lal Doda in an alleged property scam.

The Director General of Police (DGP) had constituted a special team under the leadership of Ferozepur Range DIG Hardayal Singh Mann to investigate matters relating to reality firm Nature Heights Infra Limited after some investors approached him.

The case has been registered under Sections 365, 384, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120B of the IPC. Along with Doda, his company Royal Infrastructure manager Rajiv Chugh, directors Rohit Wadhwa, Prashant Kohli, Inder Mohan, property dealers Rupinder Singh and Vishnu Dutt, Garhshanker-based farmers Jagtar Singh, Joginder Singh, Raghubir Singh and Ranjit Kaur of Mahalpur have been named in the FIR.

in her complaint, Asha Rani, a former government school headmistress, alleged that her son Neeraj Thatai, alias Neeraj Arora, CMD of Nature Heights Infra Limited, had signed a deal to buy 9.65 acres of land with Garhshanker resident Jagtar Singh, his brothers Joginder Singh and Raghubir Singh for Rs 1 crore per acre and reportedly paid an advance amount of Rs 1.25 crore in October, 2012. But these landlords, without returning the earnest money to Neeraj, sold out 4.4 acre of land to reality firm run by Shiv Lal Doda.

Neeraj was allegedly “kidnapped” by henchmen of Doda and forced to sign some documents. By projecting the commercial property as agricultural land in the sale deed, a huge loss to state was caused, the complainant alleged.

During the investigation, two landlords claimed that Neeraj could not pay the remaining money within a year and later he along with Rajiv Chugh, Rupinder Singh and Vishnu Dutt visited Garhshanker and the sale deed was executed in favour of Royal Infrastructure, but again the entire amount was not paid.
