The Punjab Government today announced Literary Punjabi Book Awards for the year 2022. Jaswant Singh Zafar, Director, Language Department, said the awards would be presented in the first week of November at Bhasha Bhawan. He said books published during the year 2021 were evaluated by subject experts.

Along with the prize money, a plaque and a shawl would be presented to the winners. A total of 210 books were received and evaluated.

Giani Gurmukh Singh Musafir Award (Poetry) has been given to Vijay Vivek’s book “Chhin Bhangar Vi Kalatit Vi”; Sujan Singh Award (Story) to Arvinder Kaur Dhaliwal’s book “Jhanjaran Wale Paer”; Gurbaksh Singh Preetlarhi Award (Essay/Travelogue) to Jagtarjit Singh’s book “Chittarkari Vich Guru Nanak”; Bhai Vir Singh Award (Biography/ Tikakaari/Lexicography) to Navdeep Singh Gill’s book “Udna Baaz”.

Besides, Dr Attar Singh Award (Criticism) to Dr Manjit Kaur Azad’s book “Vishav Sabhyaachaar Banaam Sathanak Sabhyaachaar”; Principal Teja Singh Award (Sampadan) to Dr JB Sekhon’s book “Chautha Pehar”, Dr MS Randhawa Award (Gian Sahit) to Dr Vidvaan Singh Soni’s book “Dilchasp Kahani Amber Di”.

While Guru Harkrishan Award (Children’s Literature) goes to Sudarshan Gasso’s book “Kinna Sohna Ambar Lagdai”; Prof Gurdial Singh Award (Translation) to Bhajanbir Singh’s book “Moyaan Da Rah” and Ishwar Chandra Nanda (Drama/Ikangi) to Kewal Dhaliwal’s book “Garhi Chamkaur Di”.
