Logo unveiled for events to mark martyrdom day of Sikh Guru

The CM said the underlying message of the series of events would be to encourage the people to follow the high ideals of secularism, humanism and spirit of sacrifice as preached and practised by the Guru

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday unveiled the logo for the state-level commemorative events to be organised for observing the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur.

The CM said that the state government had already chalked a number of events to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime event across the state in a befitting manner. He said on the historic occasion of the 350th martyrdom day of the “Hind di Chadar” (Protector of India), the Punjab Government would organise grand and historic events.

A massive kirtan darbar will be held in Delhi on October 25 and on November 25, a major event will be held at Anandpur Sahib. He said four nagar kirtan would start from November 20 from Jammu, Gurdaspur, Faridkot and Takht Damdama Sahib. Mann said all fours nagar kirtans would reach Anandpur Sahib on the evening of November 22, adding that various functions would be organised by the state government in the holy city from November 23 to 25.

The CM said these historic events would primarily take place on the sacred land of Anandpur Sahib. He said the underlying message of the series of events would be to encourage the people to follow the high ideals of secularism, humanism and spirit of sacrifice as preached and practised by the Guru.
