Kapil, brother of the deceased, told the police that his sister was married to Delhi resident Raghav and is survived by an 11-year-old son. But later she came in contact with Sunil Kumar alias Sunny of Mandhali village and both were in a live-in relationship for the past five years.

Their relationship, however, had turned sour due to frequent arguments and abuse allegations, he added.

After Richa’s demise, Sunny also ended his life by hanging himself at a hotel room on Banga-Mukerian road. The hotel staff discovered Sunny’s body on January 11 after noticing his mobile phone been switched off.

Police investigations revealed that Sunny had convinced Richa to leave her marital home five years ago, bringing her and her son to Mandali village. Despite purchasing a house together, their relationship was fraught with conflicts.
