Missing ‘saroops’: Make inquiry report public, Dhindsa group tells Longowal

A congregation organised by SAD (Democratic) leaders and other organisations posed tough questions to SGPC chief Gobind Singh Longowal at his residence about the missing ‘saroops’ and his alleged inaction. Longowal tried to pacify them with his detailed replies. However, the absence of the ‘Panj Pyaras’ from the meeting kicked off another controversy as both sides blamed each other.

Since SAD (Democratic) president Sukhdev Singh has tested Covid-positive, he did not attend the meeting. Other party leaders, members of social organisations and area residents first converged on Gurdwara Mastuana Sahib. After the ‘ardas’, they went to Longowal town of the district to meet the SGPC chief at his residence.

Sewa Singh Sekhwan, a party leader, said during the meeting, they asked the SGPC chief the whereabouts of the missing ‘saroops’, why the probe panel report had not been made public and why criminal cases were not filed against persons responsible for the disappearance of ‘saroops’.

Meanwhile, Longowal denied all allegations and said he remained present at his house to reply to all questions. — TNS
