Five more motorcycles have been provided to the police control room (PCR) conducting surveillance in all localities of Malerkotla, Amargarh and Ahmedgarh subdivisions.

SSP Gagan Ajit Singh, who flagged off the bikes during a brief function here today, said the district police had initiated a process to further strengthen the PCR system. Two of the bikes would have only women riders, said the SSP. The cop added that all vehicles were equipped with GPS and public address systems.

The SSP said the bikes would facilitate patrolling teams in accessing narrow lanes.
