A 60-year-old man from Bishanpura village, Mahendra Nath, passed away after inadvertently consuming a poisonous substance. Nath, who belonged to the Nath sect and sold herbal medicines from village to village, fell ill last evening and was rushed to a private hospital. Despite medical efforts, he died around 4 am on Sunday.

According to Vinod, a relative of the deceased, Mahendra Nath was a father of three children and had been in the business of selling herbal medicines for many years. The cause of death is believed to be accidental poisoning. His body has been moved to the Abohar Civil Hospital’s mortuary for a post-mortem, and the police are investigating the incident further.
