The protest over the murder of a farmer, Pushpinder Singh (35) in Fazilka’s Kamalwala village on Sunday, continued for the second day on Tuesday.

The kin of the deceased and villagers blocked the Fazilka-Ferozepur highway near the grain market. Sukhwinder Kaur, wife of the deceased, alleged threat to the life of other family members.

After persuasion, the villagers suspended the blockade for two days but refused to cremate the body till accused Gurpreet Singh was arrested. His father Jaspal Singh has already been nabbed.

OnSunday, Pushpinder was allegedly shot dead by his neighbours over canal water turn dispute. — OC
