The deceased was identified as Bittu Singh Ramdasia, a resident of Chak 9 SJM village. He was returning to his home when he was hit by a car around 8.30 pm. The driver did not stop the car even after the collision and dragged him for around 60 ft, they said.

The driver of another vehicle forced the car to stop, and asked its occupants to admit the injured man to a hospital. Instead of taking him to the hospital, they allegedly threw him into bushes.
