Eight days after two farmers of Assa Buttar village died in a road accident in Hisar district while heading back home from the farmers’ protest (Tikri border), another critically injured farmer from the same village died on Saturday night. He was undergoing treatment at a private multispecialty hospital in Mohali.

The deceased has been identified as Raghbir Singh (55), who had suffered spinal injury in the mishap. He was an activist of the Bharti Kisan Union (Kadian). Earlier, two farmers Sukhdev Singh (40) and Ajaypreet Singh (32) had died. A total of nine farmers were coming to the village in two trailers attached to a tractor. A canter hit a trailer from rear around 5 am on December 11. — TNS
